iPad Software
With the unveiling of the new Apple iPad on the 28th of January, there is some concern about what kind of iPad software is going to be available. For the most part, there isn’t any real iPad specific software just yet, but the developers are working on that problem. They look forward to showcasing some of the things they think will make the iPad an unbeatable tablet pc in the next few months. For now, though, the only real software that is available is the iPhone software apps.
The iPad software that come stock with the iPad is the iPhone operating system. This system is a wonderful prospect of the iPad and, with the 1 GHz processor that is in the new Apple tablet pc, has enough speed and power to use all of the iPhone apps. The best part is that the apps can either be used as the same size as they would be on the iPhone or you can make them full screen with a single click. The only issues with the apps is that the iPad does not have a camera so even though it can run all the apps that are available for the iPhone and iPod Touch, you will not be able to use the camera apps effectively.
Apple has decided that one great iPad software it will release is the iBook app. This will enable you to use the iPad as a reader much like Kindle would be used. The iBook app will allow you to read a multitude of books that the publishing companies will offer for eBook readers and, specifically, for the iPad itself. So, in essence, this software will allow you to take an entire library with you wherever you may be going to fill in those dead times like when you are on an airplane or relaxing while you are on vacation. This is one of those things that Apple is extremely proud of, and they will hold the rights to the iBook store where you can purchase your eBooks for a small price. This is much like they have done with the iPod stores so you can download music. You won’t be paying $.99 for a book but you won’t have to worry about paying the price of a new hardback either. They are easily stored on the iPad instead of taking up precious shelf space all throughout your home.
